The GardenThe Centennial Rose Garden is free and open to the public to take a leisurely wander around and enjoy the beauty and the fragrance of the many varieties of roses or take a seat on one of the conveniently located benches. There are over 800 roses in the garden including climbers, shrubs, floribunda, hybrid tea, miniature, old garden and rambling roses. It is maintained almost entirely by the volunteer members of the Fraser Pacific Rose Society affectionately known as the 'Garden Gnomes' who are always happy to offer help and advice to the many visitors who drop by. Our visitors to the garden include the residents of Coquitlam and the Tri-City Community, seniors from Dogwood Pavilion, special events such as wedding ceremonies, Roses & Mimosas Event attendees, groups and individual tourists from around the world, as well as flower, family and portrait photographers. Come visit us on Saturdays during the growing season (weather permitting)from March to November and we would be happy to show you around and answer any of your questions about the garden or growing roses. |
